Berstscheiben Schlesinger is expanding with a new membrane signal transmitter product range

With the introduction of the membrane signal transmitter, Schlesinger has extended its product range for burst monitoring, offering its customers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries the possibility to detect the response of a bursting disc in their plants immediately. In this case the membrane signal transmitter is connected to the internal process control system. In the event of a fault, a bursting disc equipped with this signal transmitter will tear open together with the membrane film. The closed circuit previously formed by the live silver strip conductor is interrupted and the fault is immediately transmitted to the internal process control system.

Berstscheiben Schlesinger developed the membrane signal transmitter for bursting discs especially to meet the particular requirements of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. It consists of a high-quality PEEK (polyether ether ketone) film equipped with a silver strip conductor. This material combination makes it particularly resistant to high temperatures. The strip conductor is wired, with the length of the wire variable according to customer requirements. This means that the membrane signal transmitter can be used in a temperature range between -30°C and +200°C. In combination with an approved isolating switch amplifier, it can also be used in explosion-protected areas.

Depending on your application, we can manufacture the membrane signal transmitter in sizes DN25 to DN500, either in combination with a suitable bursting disc or as an individual product. In the latter case, the membrane signal transmitter may be used upstream or downstream from a safety valve. The low installation height amounting to 5 mm allows for bursting discs already installed in a plant or tank to be retrofitted.
